ISLAMABAD: April 30, 2025 – JazzCash, Pakistan’s largest fintech platform, and Mobilink Bank, Pakistan’s leading digital microfinance institution, have been recognised by the Honorable Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, for their role in the successful execution of the Prime Minister’s Ramzan Relief Package 2025. The awards were presented to Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of Jazz, Murtaza Ali, President of JazzCash, and Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary, President and CEO of Mobilink Bank.
Under the Ramzan Relief Package, PKR 40 billion was distributed nationwide, empowering 3.5 million families with direct financial support of PKR 5,000 each. JazzCash and Mobilink Bank facilitated secure transfers for 1.1 million families in over 450 cities. The disbursements were made directly into beneficiaries’ mobile wallets or through selected JazzCash agents, significantly minimising the risk of fraud, reducing cash handling, and ensuring transparency.
Commenting on the recognition, Murtaza Ali, President of JazzCash, said, "We are honoured by this recognition and commend the Government of Pakistan for taking a forward-thinking approach to welfare delivery. By leveraging digital wallets at this scale, the government has demonstrated how technology can be harnessed to ensure speed, transparency, and dignity in aid disbursements."
Sharing his thoughts, Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary, President and CEO, Mobilink Bank, said, "At Mobilink Bank, we believe that access to financial services is a powerful enabler of resilience and dignity. This collaboration under the Ramzan Relief Package underscores the growing importance of digital microfinance solutions in empowering communities, delivering timely support, and shaping a financially inclusive and future-ready Pakistan."
As part of this initiative, JazzCash and Mobilink Bank conducted a comprehensive beneficiary awareness campaign across television, digital platforms, social media, SMS, robocalls, and outbound calls to educate recipients about eligibility and the digital process.
The High Achievers Awards presented to JazzCash and Mobilink Bank’s leadership reaffirm the critical role that digital financial solutions and microfinance institutions play in bridging the gap between government initiatives and the citizens who need support most. By driving transparency, reducing operational bottlenecks, and expanding reach to even the most underserved communities, mobile wallets have proven to be an effective conduit for social welfare programs.
This partnership reflects a shared vision of leveraging technology to uplift communities and enhance transparency in public disbursement systems. JazzCash frequently collaborates with the government to distribute public service funds to underserved communities. Some of these partnerships include the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), KPK Ramzan Relief Funds, Zakat and Ushr Department of Punjab, and the Punjab Social Protection Authority (PSPA).
